May 7 MILAN
Once you clear customs your guide will be waiting for you at the meeting point area outside the custom area and will assist you to your coach. Stroll through Milan and learn about the city’s history and rep as a fashion capital. Stop at Castello Sforzesco to see history and style combined with Milanese flair. Explore the public areas, with stories of its 15th-century owners ringing in your ears, and then continue to nearby La Scala Opera House. Prepare to be wowed by the prestigious Milan opera house, with its ornate stage that glistens under crystal chandeliers. Gaze down at the orchestra pit from the public box, and take a quick look inside La Scala Museum with your guide. Then admire the scale and beauty of Milan Cathedral and learn of its long history. Finally, hit the shops and browse the voguish boutiques. Stroll through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele arcade with its luxury outlets. After a break for lunch on your own we will continue on to the Best Western LaFavaglie Hotel for a two night stay. May 8 LAKE COMO
Enjoy a buffet breakfast in the hotel before heading to Lake Como the third-largest lake in Italy, known for its incredible Mediterranean and Alpine scenery, as well as being a favorite locale among Hollywood’s stars. This day tour from Milan will show you the beauty and majesty of this Italian resort. Along the shores, especially from Cernobbio to Gravedona and Bellagio, you will see wonderful villas In Como, visit the center of the city with, and explore the picturesque streets, beautiful architecture, and stunning views.
There will be time for a Lake Cruise before returning to LaFavaglie hotel where you find numerous restaurants close by to choose for dinner. The restaurants in this area will feature everything from Tuscan pizza to more exotic dishes like rabbit and mushrooms. Breakfast.
May 9 LUGANO AND LAKE MAGGIORE
After breakfast depart for Lugano Switzerland. The Swiss city of Lugano, is also known as the ‘Monte Carlo of Switzerland’. Enjoy free time to walk along the lake or do a little shopping for Swiss souvenirs. Be sure to stop by the local chocolate shop Laderach
Chocolaterie Suisse for a treat to take home. You will want to buy extra as it is hard to resist eating these delectable treats. Stroll the squares, share a cheese fondue with a friend, shop till you drop, enjoy the views of the lake and the marketplace. Continue through magnificent vistas with the Swiss Alps in the background.
May 10 LAKE MAGGIORE
Lake Maggiore for a two night stay at Hotel Castello Dal Pozzo, Oleggio Castello. ( In Italy castle rooms have queen beds and an additional rollaway can be ordered at time of booking) Breakfast and Dinner.
Today is a free day to explore Lake Maggiore. The hotel will provide a free shuttle to the village or you can walk about a mile through this tranquil area. We will provide transportation to the boat tos for those that want to do a boat tour. Breakfast
May 11 FLORENCE
After Breakfast it is a short ride to the Milan Train Station. The train departs at 9:35 and arrives at 11:25.. On arrival in Florence we will check into your hotel and meet your local guide for a walking tour of Old Town Florence. We will make lots of stops and those that are unable to walk can take a taxi and meet us at strategic points. Our hotel will be the Hotel Paris is similar style property. Our walking tour will include the Duemo at one end and the Ponte Vechio where the gold shops are, and famous sites of Florence Old Town in between. Tonight we welcome you to Florence with dinner. Breakfast and Dinner.
May 12 TUSCANY
After Breakfast we head into the Tuscan Hills where you will sample Tuscan Products. In the medieval town of Grieve in Chianti enjoy a wine tasting, cheese tasting and the wonderful meat products of this area. The olive oil that you taste will be very different than what you find in the USA. The food and wine in the Tuscan hills is part of what makes this area so unique. Tonight we will overnight at the 4 star Il-Piccolo-Castello- Hotel, set in the shadow of the fortress Monteriggioni, the fort that protected Sienna. Tonight enjoy a Tuscan banquet at the hotel. Breakfast and Dinner.
May 13 TUSCANY AND SIENNA
The day begins with breakfast and a visit to the Tuscan hills where you have the opportunity to learn to make Pasta Tuscan style. Learn to make pasta from scratch with quick sauces while sampling the wine, and desserts. This day always turns out to be a magical day. We return to the hotel star Il-Piccolo-Castello- Hotel in the evening after watching the sun set over Tuscany Breakfast & Dinner
May 14 ROME
This morning we transfer to Rome where you will have a private tour of the Vatican and a comprehensive tour of Rome. Tonight we will feature a farewell to Italy dinner. Breakfast and dinner
May 15 Return home
Today enjoy a Rome Street food tour before transfer to the airport.
